Cockapoo History
The Cockapoo is a hybrid dog breed that was developed by crossing a Cocker Spaniel and an Poodle. The Cockapoo first became popular after World War II when Americans began searching for loving, healthy family pets. Breeding of the Cockapoo started as early as the 1960s in the United States, though it wasn't until 1988 that the breed earned recognition from The International Cock-A-Poo Club Inc. This designer breed is known for being highly intelligent, friendly and loyal to their owners. They are generally low shedding and make excellent family pets due to their even temperaments and love of people. While they don't need a lot of exercise, they tend to prefer playing outdoors or taking walks with their owners
